WILLAMETTE WEEK

Not wanting to give a virus programming clout, he’s impressed by filmmakers processing the pandemic in ways beyond its blunt tragedy, as in the debt-collecting short comedy CoVIG 19. “Things are starting to lighten up as people get accustomed to the way things are,” says Stevens. “Artists are trying to make movies again, things that are relatable.”

FILM THREAT

Writer-director James H. Lee and co-writer Mark Lesser design CoVig 19 in a way that highlights the ridiculousness of the pandemic and the ways in which the world has reacted. Their plan to expose their targets is ludicrous but is planned and well-executed... it's beautifully designed to offend and question the world in which we live.
